Telegraph Luxury – Where property imitates art

October 2016

The Hempel Collection features in an article by Telegraph Luxury which denotes the increasing links between art and property and how developers use art to inspire the very aesthetics of the building.

The article references the natural synergy between art and luxury property, highlighting the current trend for prime new developments showcasing priceless pieces by famous artists within the communal areas or using art to help reinvigorate and “placemake” a destination. The piece goes on to explain that some developers have moved a step forward and now use art to inspire the design of the new building and interiors.

For the penthouse of Hempel Square, part of The Hempel Collection development in Bayswater, the designers took inspiration from a piece of work by renowned British artist David Hockney. The painting, Mr and Mrs Clark and Percy, depicts a West London idyll and guided the design team to emulate the uniquely British lifestyle in the penthouse.
